Yet another outfit out of Brooklyn, Crystal Stilts has all the dark desert baritone swagger and drug-fogged jangle of the Doors, the impecable cool of Interpol and  the punch-up energy and comic edge of Collapsing Cities.

Their second record, In Love With Oblivion is dripping with deadpan cool, expanded on here at Pitchfork, and debut Alight of Night is no less worth a listen. If there’s one song to investigate here, you’ll be hooked on them after hearing Shake the Shackles.

So fold a pack of cigarettes under your tee shirt sleeve, pull on that black leather jacket, and try and be as cool as this record.
